Root Canal Redux
a pain in the tooth
Earlier this weekend my front tooth started hurting. It kind of felt like I had knocked my tooth on something... but I hadn't. And it was really just the one tooth. It wasn't a shooting pain, but more of a dull ache up near the root, not in the exposed tooth itself.
Today I called the dentist to have him check it out. They got me right in, and took a snazzy x-ray.
11-ish years ago I got a root canal on my right front tooth after an incident in the batting cage where a ball glanced off my bat and smacked me right in the mouth. As it turns out, I'm developing a bit of an infection at the top of the root, so my dentist thinks I need to get my root canal re-done. Fun fun. The good thing is, because the tooth already has no nerve from the previous root canal, I probably won't need to have much local anesthesia.
