Newborn Ribbed Pullover and Hat

yes... more green

simple ribbed newborn pullover and hatThis project is a bit out of order. I actually made it during my trip to Salt Lake for the Climb4Life (a girl really could get used to sitting in first class). It's a simple 3x3 ribbed sweater and hat sized for a newborn. I actually used a sock yarn in orer to get the guage right. BUT.. it being a sock yarn -- I think the sweater will be very durable and can get washed over and over without any problems. Guess I'll find out.

  • the pattern: #29 Pullover and Hat from the Fall 2007 Knit Simple Magazine
  • the materials:
    • 1 ball Sockotta Sock Yarn, color 816 by Plymouth Yarn Co
(one ball was plenty for the newborn-sized sweater and hat, I even have a 1.5" ball leftover, so it may be possible to do the 3 month size from 1 ball.)
    • 2 circular size 3 needles
    • 2 buttons
  • the modifications: I actually didn't make any modifications from the pattern, I knit these just as the instructions state.
